Visitors from far and wide packed Williams this weekend during the 11th Annual Historic Route 66 Car Show hosted by the American Legion Cordova Post 13, and sponsored by the Grand Canyon Railway.
According to even organizers, “This two-day celebration transforms downtown Williams into a vibrant show-and-shine festival. Historic Route 66 becomes the backdrop for hundreds of stunning vehicles, from vintage classics and muscle cars to customs, trucks, and one-of-a-kind builds.”
The annual event can accommodate up to 600 entries and has become a significant car show that attracts thousands of visitors to Williams. Many foreign tourists were in town on holiday, with most being pleasantly surprised by the show.
According to John Moore who is running for Mayor of Williams, “this is one of the biggest and best cars shows since they started in the 1980s. The American Legion and the Grand Canyon Railway teamed up to present a wonderful Car Show. The economic impact to Williams is huge.”
