LOCAL SURVIVES GEAR UP LANDING AT WILLIAMS AIRPORT

A single engine plane made a partial gear up landing at Williams H.A. Clark Airport this afternoon. The plane was piloted by Grand Canyon Brewery and Cruisers Route 66 Cafe owner John Peasley, who reportedly circled the area while trying to get the nose gear to extend and lock.

Peasley is reported to have contacted Williams P.D. and advised them of his situation which quickly sent Police and Fire resources to the airport to stand by as he landed with the nose landing gear retracted.

According to several witnesses, the landing was “text book” and resulted in no injuries or fire. Peasley was the only person on board the plane and was reportedly returning to Williams from a business trip.

The airports only runway was closed for a time and the FAA and NTSB were notified of the incident. The plane, a Cessna Centurion 210, was damaged during the landing.
