COASTER PARK SNOW MAKING CREATES DANGEROUS SITUATION ON ROUTE 66

The law of unintended consequences was in full effect today as the snow making machines used by the Canyon Coaster Adventure Park to create snow for its tubing hill overshot their mark and created ice on Route 66 in front of the park.

The moisture from the snow making machines could be seen blowing off the parks property and falling on the road below creating a thick coating of ice that made the road surface very slippery for passing cars.

A city truck spread cinders over the ice during the day to add traction to the hill.

According to Mayor John W. Moore, the city is looking at the problem and will work with the owners of the park to figure out a solution as soon as possible.
