The City of Williams has hired a new Fire Marshal for the Williams Fire Department. The position was approved over a year ago but the City Council decided to delay filling the position to assess what impact the pandemic would have on city finances.
A committee of city employees chose Jason Moore to be the new Fire Marshall. Moore has previous experience with the Williams Fire Department, and in Law Enforcement.
The main duties of the Fire Marshal is to work with businesses and hotels to assure they are complying with fire and life safety codes.
