CITY PARTNERS WITH ARIZONA RANGERS

The Williams Police Department announced new collaboration with the Arizona Rangers aimed at enhancing safety for residents and visitors in Williams while optimizing available resources.

According to the Williams P.D. announcement, “The Arizona Rangers bring a wealth of experience and commitment, providing an additional layer of security and support to Williams PD’s community-focused policing model.”

The Arizona Rangers will assist with events in the city like the upcoming parade and tree lighting, as well as providing opportunities to increase response in emergencies, provide training resources, and optimize available resources in the community.

The Arizona Rangers were formed in 1901 to help rid the Arizona Territory of outlaws. Modern day Arizona Rangers are a force multiplier that assists local law enforcement in a variety of tasks.

Arizona Rangers were officially recognized by the State of Arizona when the Legislature passed Arizona Revised Statute (ARS) 41-4201 authorizing the Arizona Rangers to provide armed law enforcement assistance to any Local, State, Federal or Tribal law enforcement agency in Arizona, which was then signed into law by Governor Jane Hull.

The Rangers have provided coverage of events like the Veterans Stand Down in the past. This agreement formalizes the relationship with the city and opens new opportunities for the Rangers to serve the residents and visitors of Williams.
