The Arizona Department of Health Services has issued a Certificate of Necessity to Priority Ambulance which allows them to provide ambulance service to Yavapai County and parts of Coconino County, including the Williams area.
The areas sole ambulance provider until now has been Lifeline Ambulance. A combination of factors, including population growth and a shortage of Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics has led to persistent shortages of available ambulances and long response times.
The addition of a new provider to the area is expected to ease the problem and provide for shorter response times. Lifeline Ambulance routinely stations 2 ambulances in Williams. When they are out of the area or on calls, significant delays in response times have occurred.
Specifics of the new coverage, and a timeline for service rollout have yet to be released.
